Hello All,
Please join us next week for our closing social.  Parents are invited.  Please come in Sunday dress.  It will be a bittersweet end to the wonderful year we've had.  Thanks to all of you: special needs members, parents, teachers, and friends.

Also - as a head's up, the date for the summer carnival/youth conference is likely changing from June 27 to June 20.  Please check in again in a couple of weeks for updated information!

See you next week!

May 14 YW Activity

Hello All!  So - there was a bit of a mix-up, so there will not be a combined activity on May 14.  but we have something very fun planned: A camp night!  We'll have s'mores, a camp craft, a nature walk/scavenger hunt, and camp songs.  It's sure to be a great time.  See you there!

May Activities for the Young Women

Here is a list of activities for May for the Young Women:

May 7: Class Night
May 14: Combined Activity
May 21: Closing Class Social
May 28: Closing Combined Social

Don't forget to calendar our combined summer activity:  Saturday, June 27  from 10-noon.  We will be combining with our friends from the Herriman Special Needs Mutual for a fun event!

April 30th YW Activity - Learning Some BSL

Several of our special needs members and their youth friends know some ASL (American Sign Language).  They've learned the ASL signs to a few hymns and songs.  We thought it would be fun if they learned some BSL (British Sign Language).  Our guest, Ayas, taught us our ABCs in BSL.

From "V" to "W".

"P".

Playing a memory matching game.  Pairing the ASL letter with the BSL letter.

It was a fun activity.  Thank you to Ayas and Wendy for helping us out!

Fun on Public Safety Night!

Some fun pictures during our last activity!

We had several competitions as to whose siren was the loudest.  The firetruck won every time. :)

Unified Police answered questions.

This fireman let us try on fire gear.

The highway patrolwoman had goggles that skewed vision, representing what it might be like to be under the influence.  She told us to try to give each other a high five.  Good try, guys!

Putting out "fires" (the orange cones).
